Superior hair color for licensed stylists in the USA and Canada.

Pulp Riot lasts longer. Why? Because we use superior quality dyes. When formulating color, there are thousands of choices of dyes, and we did not skimp or cut corners, whatsoever.

Generally, for most people, the deeper tones can last up to 42 washes, and the lighter tones up to 25 washes until the color is fully out. With Pulp Riot, the color fades true to tone.

Note, with all color lines, there are a variety of factors that can influence how quickly hair color fades, including: the porosity of the hair, what level the hair is, exposure to sun, the shampoo and conditioner you use, how often you wash your hair, the type of water used, if certain medications are used, environmental elements, genetics, etc.

For maximum hair color longevity, we recommend that you shampoo and condition with sulfate-free and sodium chloride free products and rinse using tepid water up to 3 times a week, or use a dry shampoo. To make the color last longer, when cleansing we recommend shampooing the root area, but not let the shampoo sit on the rest of the hair for any lengthy period.

Exposing the hair to well water, chlorinated water, or salt water may compromise the hair color.

Proper application is important to increasing the lifespan of the color. Pulp Riot should be applied to clean, dry hair. We do not recommend conditioning the hair right before applying the color, because some conditioners can act as a barrier, not allowing the color to properly adhere (this is especially true of deep conditioning treatments.) No developer should be used.

We recommend taking ½” sections and fully saturating the hair with the color. Full saturation is key. The color should process for 20 to 40 minutes, without heat. After processing, we recommend rinsing with cool water, without shampoo. Conditioning the ends is optional.

Pulp Riot is never tested on animals, is free from gluten, parabens and ammonia.

Pulp Riot colors can all be mixed with each other to created custom colors. Generally, Pulp Riot colors don’t bleed like other color lines. You can see on our Instagram feed, hundreds of different photos where one color is placed next to another color without any bleeding. To minimize bleeding, you can hold the lighter pieces out of the shampoo bowl for as long as possible before rinsing after processing. Noir is our most pigmented color; therefore, care should be taken when placing it directly next to a lighter color to minimize the chance of bleeding.
